According to Sci-Fi Wire, casting for Hellboy 2 is scheduled to begin in January with shooting to follow in May or June (see 'Universal Picks Up 'Hellboy 2'').  Writer/director Guillermo del Toro says Hellboy 2 will likely shoot in Hungary, or 'wherever the exchange rate takes us.'

 

Various sources also report that del Toro has declared a keen interest to do a film based on one of H.P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu works--Mountains of Madness -- an idea he's been pushing since 2003.  Other projects on deck for del Toro include the recently announced Tarzan movie (see 'New 'Tarzan' Movie in The Works').
