Chiwetel Ejiofor, who was nominated for an Oscar for his performance in 12 Years a Slave, is in talks with Marvel for a major role in the Doctor Strange movie that Scott Derrickson is directing for a November 4, 2016 debut. If negotiations are successful (no guarantees here), Ejiofor would join a cast headed by Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange (see "Benedict Cumberbatch Is Doctor Strange").
Even the all-seeing Eye of Agamotto doesn’t yet know what role Ejiofor is up for, but according to The Hollywood Reporter, insiders are “pooh-poohing” the idea that Ejiofor will play Baron Mordo, Doctor Strange’s chief antagonist.
