Nefarious is a mad scientist card game designed by Donald X. Vaccarino (Dominion, Kingdom Builder).  Players are genius inventors attempting to build freeze rays, cloaking devices, robotic pets, and more.  Each turn players can choose to invent, do research, work, or engage in espionage.  The goal is to earn enough money to make different inventions, which are worth points.  The first scientist to score 24 points wins.  The game is for ages 13 and up. MSRP is $29.95.

Telestrations 8 Player- After Dark is an adult version of the award-winning guess-the-drawing game (see "Games Magazine's Top Games").  Gameplay is the same as Telestrations, but the content words have changed.  Some of the secret words include: anaconda, jackhammer, human centipede, doggie style, and appendicitis.  "We’re addressing a need," USAopoly Marketing Manager Cindy Saylor told ICv2.  "We heard through customer service and at Gen Con that people were playing Telestrations with Cards Against Humanity cards."  The game is players ages 17 and up. MSRP is $29.95.

Pass the Blame--The Party Game for Irresponsible Adults is a game of concocting the best excuse to get out of unfortunate situations.  Players are presented with a Situation card, for example:

  • There’s a giant slice missing from the birthday cake, and the party hasn’t even started.
  • There are muddy footprints all over the new white carpet.
  • Your friend’s collection of vintage action figures was mistakenly donated to the holiday toy drive.

The player must then write down who is to blame and why.  Then the answers are scored based on best and worst excuse.  The game is for ages 17 and up.  MSRP is $19.95.

USAopoly also announced two new additions to its Doctor Who licensed games for this year (see "'Clue: Doctor Who' and 'Monopoly: Doctor Who Villains Edition'").
