Based on the books by Brandon Sanderson, Stormlight is a high fantasy setting that features a world wracked by violent Highstorms. The game uses Brotherwise’s Cosmere Roleplaying Game system, built around a skill-based mechanic based around a 20-sided die and a special “plot die” that introduces “opportunities” and “complications” to character actions.
The opening wave of Stormlight titles includes the Stormlight Starter Set, a boxed set that comes with a condensed 60-page version of the rulebook, a 48-page adventure designed for starting characters, battle maps and tokens needed for the adventure, a half-dozen pre-generated characters, and a set of six RPG dice plus one plot die. MSRP is $24.99.The full game rules are split between the Stormlight Handbook, a 392-page hardcover book that describes character creation and rules for playing the game and the Stormlight World Guide, a 280-page book describing the history and culture of the world of Roshar, the setting for Stormlight, as well as the broader Cosmere setting. The books will be sold separately with an MSRP of $59.99 each.Rounding out the new books will be the Stonewalkers Adventure, a 172-page campaign-style adventure book that follows the characters as they develop from first through eight level. MSRP is $49.99.Alongside the books, Brotherwise will offer Stormlight accessories including a set of miniatures with an MSRP of $49.99 (see “Gen Con 2025 News: Brotherwise Games Previews ‘Stormlight’ Miniatures Boxed Set”), a GM screen for $12.99, a map pack for $14.99, a token back and dice set for $12.99 each, a deck of plot cards for $11.99, and a deck of item cards for $9.99.
Last year, Cosmere set a new record for the highest funded tabletop game on Kickstarter, breaking the 15 million dollar mark (see “‘Cosmere RPG’ Is Most Funded Tabeltop Game Kickstarter”).
