Guillermo del Toro has submitted script revisions on his Justice League Dark adaptation, according to IGN, and described the screenplay and characters as “very solid.” Del Toro reported turning in the first version of the script for the film, tentatively titled Dark Universe, last fall (see "'Justice League Dark' Script Complete").
Del Toro indicated that he would like to direct if the film is greenlit, but that if his schedule doesn’t work, "somebody will do it." The film has not been slotted into DC’s slate (see "Warners Announces Nine More DC Movies"); it would be the third DC film in any of the years between 2017 and 2020 unless it bumped another film, or would have to be scheduled for 2021 or after.
