Rules have been retooled for this new version. Players will control paladins, dwarves, knights, and magicians, who have swords, crossbows, and spells to battle the zombies and their Necromancer overlords. Survivors will be able to use chainmail armor, shields, spell books, or a fire in a pool of dragon bile in their battles with the zombies.
Locations will include medieval streets and secret vaults with passages through the citadel.
The previous three versions of the game have all been big time Kickstarters, with the last two versions on the increasingly-difficult-to-attain Top 10 Tabletop Game Kickstarters (see "Top Ten Tabletop Game Kickstarters").
The most recent version of the game, Zombicide Season 3 (see "'Zombicide Season 3' Kickstarter Approaching $1M"), was funded on Kickstarter last summer at over $2.8 million.
No release date has been announced for Zombicide: Black Plague.
