Fantasy Flight Games has announced Strange Remnants, an expansion for its popular Eldritch Horror board game, and The Harbinger, an expansion for Talisman.

Strange Remnants sees the Lovecraftian battle to save the world move to the haunted ruins of massive stone monuments around the world: Chichen Itza, the Easter Islands, Stonehenge and the Great Wall of China. The investigators must learn the secrets of the ruins and perform rituals to stop an evil portal from opening that will destroy the Earth.

The box contains an Ancient One and accompanying Mythos and Mystery Cards, four investigator sheets and tokens, 86 cards (location, other world, special and mystic ruins encounter), assets, conditions, spells, monsters, and a rulesheet.  As an expansion, it requires the base game to play (see “'Eldritch Horror' from FFG”). The game is for 1- 8 players, ages 14 and up, and plays in 2 – 4 hours.  MSRP is $24.95. Release is planned for Q3.  The popular board game has appeared on ICv2’s Top 10 hobby channel board game chart several times, most recently last summer (see “Top 10 Board Games--Summer 2014”).

The Harbinger is an expansion for the Talisman Revised 4th Edition board game.  It introduces the Harbinger, a mysterious figure of prophecy and doom who wanders the realm.  The Harbinger deck brings forth demons and plagues, and three new characters seek the Crown of Command.  There are new Omen decks and Terrain cards as well.

The box contains a Harbinger figure, sheet and deck; three new characters, four Omen decks, Terrain cards, and two apocalypse-themed alternate endings.  As an expansion, it requires the base game to play. MSRP is $24.95. Release is planned for late Q2.
