The new Fuji TV Dragon Ball Super anime series in Japan will be accompanied by a manga version in Shueisha’s V Jump magazine, Anime News Network is reporting.

The manga story will launch in V Jump’s extra-large August issue. The story was created by Dragon Ball manga creator Akira Toriyama, and will be drawn by Toyotaro (Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection F).  Though no English edition has been announced, VIZ Media has released all the previous Dragon Ball material in the U.S., and the series remains one of VIZ’s top manga series even today (see “Interview with VIZ's Kevin Hamric, Part 1”).

The only thing known about the new anime series (see “New 'Dragon Ball' Anime”) is that it will take place several years after the defeat of Majin Buu on a now-peaceful Earth. The series will premiere in July on Sundays at 9 a.m.
