Alderac will release a new stand-alone expansion for its Valley of the Kings deck-building game.  Valley of the Kings:  Afterlife will release in Q3.

In Tom Cleaver’s game, players take on the role of Egyptian nobles who must prepare for their burial in the legendary Valley of the Kings.  Players fill their tombs with valuables like jewelry, art, and weapons through the game’s deck-building mechanic.  Naturally, the player with the most valuable artifacts wins the game.

Valley of the Kings:  Afterlife can be played on its own as a two to four player game, or it can be combined with the original version as an expansion, allowing for up to six players and changing the mix of cards available to the players.  Solitaire rules are also included in this set, effectively making the expansion into a one to six player game.

Like the original, Afterlife is intended for ages 14 and up, and plays in about 45 minutes.  MSRP is $19.99.

The original version was released in 2014 (see “‘Valley of the Kings’ Deck-Building Game”).
