Synapses Games has acquired the rights to publish the Compile game series, the company announced.
Compile is a series of games, designed by Michael Yang, where players draft and execute AI Protocols using decks of cards (see "'Compile: Main 1'"). This series of games had been previously published by Greater Than Games, a company which had recently suspended work on all of their new projects and reduced their staff because of the tariff situation (see "Victim of Tariffs"). Now, Compile: Main and the upcoming Compile: Main 2 game have come under the banner of Synapses Games.
“Our goal is to ensure continuity, grow the player base and help Compile achieve the success it truly deserves,” said Carl Briere, Publisher at Synapses Games.
Compile: Main 1 had recently won the Origins Award for Best Fixed Constructable Game (see "2025 Origins Awards"). The next game in the series, Compile: Main 2 (see "'Compile: Main 2'"), was due out in July 2025, but now has been rescheduled for the end of the year.
