30 years after the 1995 crossover event
Age of Apocalypse, Marvel has announced a new event,
Age of Revelation, that is set 10 years in the future in the Revelation Territories, a mutant homeland created and ruled by the heir of Apocalypse, Doug Ramsey, a.k.a. Revelation. Although the new territory is designed to be a utopia for mutants, it is built on a lie and threatens to overwhelm the earth and destroy humanity, leading a band of X-Men to foment rebellion. Writer Jed MacKay is the architect of the event, which will take over the current X-Men line with new titles including
Amazing X-Men,
Unbreakable X-Men, and
Expatriate X-Men and will also branch out into the larger Marvel line with
Radioactive Spider-Man,
X-Vengers, and
Iron and Frost. The event will kick off with
Age of Revelation #0, by MacKay and artist Humberto Ramos, with a cover by Ryan Stegman, which is available to order now. Marvel sent select retailers a Shadow Drop Variant of the issue this week.
Age of Revelation #1, by MacKay and Stegman, lays the foundation of the event and will be released on October 1, 2025, with a cover by Stegman.
“We're traveling to the alien future of the Age of Revelation, where the stories unfolding in the Revelation Territories and beyond will decide whether this is the dawn of a new world, or the end of one,” MacKay said in a statement accompanying the announcement.
Marvel announced another event, X-Men of Apocalypse, which will launch in September (see “Loeb and Di Meo on ‘Age of Apocalypse’”).
