The winners of the most prestigious international game awards for 2015 have been announced. Christopher Raimbault’s Colt Express has won the Spiel des Jahres, and Andreas Pelikan and Alexander Pfister’s Broom Service received the Kennerspiel award.

The Spiel des Jahres (or “Game of the Year”) winner Colt Express is published in Europe by Ludonaute, and available through Asmodee in the US (see “‘Colt Express’”). The game beat out Masao Suganuma’s Machi Koro and Steffen Benndorf’s The Game, both published by IDW Games in the US (see “Hit Japanese Game 'Machi Koro'” and “IDW Games to Release 'The Game'”).

The Kennerspiel (“Enthusiast Game of the Year”) winner, Broom Service, is published by the alea imprint of German publisher Ravensburger Spieleverlag GmbH. It beat out Brett Gilbert and Matthew Dunstan’s Elysium (Asmodee - see “‘Nations:  Dice,’ ‘Elysium,’ More”), and Reiner Stockhausen’s Orleans (Tasty Minstrel – see “'Steam Works,' 'Orleans,'More”).

The Kinderspiel des Jahres (or “Children’s Game of the Year”) was awarded last month and went to Spinderella (see “2015 'Kinderspiel Des Jahres' Winner Announced”).
