Chris Pine has signed a deal with Warner Bros. to appear as Steve Trevor in the Wonder Woman movie that Patty Jenkins is directing. Pine, who will star opposite Gail Gadot, has signed a multi-picture deal that inlcudes options for sequels, according to The Wrap, Pine was in talks for the role back in May (see "Chris Pine in Talks for 'Wonder Woman'"),
Previous rumors had tied Pine to a potential Green Lantern movie (see "Warner Bros. Announces a 'Green Lantern Corps' Movie"), but according to The Wrap his position in the cinematic DC universe will be to help Wonder Woman in a "sidekick" role that should nevertheless provide the actor with plenty of opportunities to display his action movie chops.
Gadot will unveil her Wonder Woman character in Zack Snyder’s Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice (see "'Batman v. Superman' Comic-Con Trailer" for a glimpse of her), which debuts next March. We probably have to wait until June 23, 2017 for the full-fledged cinematic debut of the new Steve Trevor.
