AfterShock Comics announced the hiring of digital comics veteran Mike Zagari as Senior Vice President of Digital and Creative.  Zagari was an Executive Producer for Disney Publishing Digital, where he worked on Disney and Star Wars apps, and also worked at Marvel and at DC where he oversaw the digital art direction of Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman.

AfterShock Comics, which was formed last April, has a talent roster that includes plenty of comic book industry veterans along with folks with Hollywood connections as well as some silicon valley investment capital (see “New Publisher Formed With Marts, Pruett” & “Garth Ennis, Jimmy Palmiotti, Amanda Connor, Paul Jenkins to Write for AfterShock Comics”).

Now comes word that the AfterShock talent roster has been expanded with veteran comic book scribe Mark Waid (Kingdom Come, Irredeemable) and Tom Peyer (LOSH) are writing Captain Kid, a new ongoing series about a typical middle-aged comic book fan, who becomes young again when he transforms into a superhero.  The first issue of Captain Kid is due from AfterShock Comics in the summer of 2016 (no artist has been announced yet).
