Stonemaier Games has announced Vantage, a new game designed by Jamey Stegmaier, for mid-2025 release. Stegmaier has spent the last seven years creating this game, which is nearing the end of its playtest process and almost complete, he told followers on his blog. Production is expected to start late this year.
This open-world cooperative game takes place on an uncharted planet after an intergalactic vessel crashes far from any companions. It offers a complete planet to explore, with nearly 800 interconnected locations on cards and over 900 other discoverable cards.
In Vantage, a roguelike adventure game (not a campaign game), players communicate while scattered across the world; each player can communicate with and support other players, who are separated by vast distances, but only the player can see their own location.
Vantage is completely elf-contained, with no expansions planned. There will be a few accessories, like metal coins, which Stonemaier began offering on its website in the run-up to launch.
