Mayday Games will release the secret agent dice game H.I.D.E.: Hidden Identity Dice Espionage in 2017. The game is currently seeking funding on Kickstarter.

In the game, players are secret agents competing to become the next Legendary Spy. They must use their deductive skills to uncover their competitors hidden identities represented by a custom die. At the start of each round, dice are rolled and each player takes one, which may correspond to their identity or not. If it has either a color or symbol in common with their identity they put it on their hideout, and then they can make an attempt at exposing another player’s identity on their turn. If they choose a die which has nothing in common with their identity, it goes in front of their hideout and they can’t confront other players that round, instead focusing on completing their mission and earning prestige to gain a rank. The game is over when one player reaches the rank of master spy (7 rank cards) or whomever has collected the most money after the 3rd round.

The box contains 5 Hideout boards, 5 individual screens, 32 dice, a pouch, 49 cards, a game board and rules. The game is for 3 – 5 players, ages 10 and up, and plays in 30 minutes. MSRP is $39.95.

The Kickstarter campaign has raised $8,238 from 202 backers ($40.78 / backer average) as of this writing, more than meeting its $5000 goal. There is a retailer level where store owners can pledge $40.00 to reserve 9 copies of the game, plus a demo copy. The balance will be due at fulfillment time. The campaign runs through Thursday, October 13. Fulfillment is planned for April 2017, with trade release to follow.

Mayday recently Kickstarted Isle of Monsters, which is also due in 2017 (see “Mayday Visits 'Isle of Monsters'”).
