Just after 20th Century Fox revealed the main villain for the third Wolverine solo movie Logan (see “Villain for Third 'Wolverine' Movie Revealed”), The Wrap has released information on two more key roles.

According to The Wrap’s insider, the child in the poster (see “Third Standalone 'Wolverine' Movie To Be Called 'Logan'”) is a young mutant girl named Laura, who will be played by Sienna Novikov. Multiple sources have confirmed the character is Laura Kinney, also known as X-23. The adult X-23 has retractable adamantium-coated bone claws in her hands and feet, like Wolverine. She also has a regenerative healing factor, enhanced strength, senses, reflexes, and speed.

Richard E. Grant, who was cast in April as a “villainous mad scientist type” (see “End of April Geek Movie Round-Up”) will be playing Dr. Zander Rice, the head of the project that created X-23.  Rice’s father, Dale Rice, worked on the original Weapon X Project that produced Wolverine, and was killed by Wolverine when he escaped.

Logan is due in theaters on March 3, 2017.
