In its announcement of the Public Listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange Growth Enterprise Market (see “CMON Raises $10 Million, Shares Now Publicly Traded”), CMON  Limited noted some major upcoming releases, including a new licensed board game based on the seminal motion picture The Godfather designed by Eric Lang (Blood Rage, Arcadia Quest, Marvel Dice Masters).

“When talking about the U.S. market, we will continue to come up with great games not only via the Kickstarter platform, but also the direct to distribution catalog,” CMON Limited Director of Marketing Ruby Nikolopoulou told ICv2. “Good examples of this are The Godfather, Potion Explosion and Bloodborne.”

The Godfather: The Board Game is a confrontational worker placement style game with miniatures where players take the roles of different Mafia families and attempt to take control of the city. Players compete for control of the New York rackets, and try to curry the favor of Don Corleone. Intrigue and murder are part of the competition. Art is done by Karl Kopinski. The game is for 2 – 5 players and plays in 90 minutes. MSRP was not announced. Release is planned for Q3 2017.

IDW Games has also released a board game (see “Vie to Control the Underworld in 'The Godfather: A New Don'”) and a card game (see “'The Godfather' Tabletop Games”) based on The Godfather.
