A new television hero will have 24 hours to save the country from terrorism in 24: Legacy, and Eric Carter will have his backstory told in 24: Legacy - Rules of Engagement, a five-part comic book series from IDW.

In the show, Corey Hawkin’s Eric Carter will take the reigns from Kiefer Sutherland’s Jack Bauer. THR reports that 24: Legacy - Rules of Engagement, written by Christopher Farnsworth and drawn by Antonio Fuso, will show Carter’s experiences in Iraq and Washington DC prior to the events in the new TV series. The first of five issues launches in April.

IDW has previously published other 24 comics starring Jack Bauer, and Fuso has become something of a go-to guy for IDW’s television and movie tie-ins, drawing comics based on Torchwood (see “'Torchwood' Returns”), Drive (see “'Drive' and 'The Seven-Per-Cent Solution' Comic Adaptations”), and G.I. Joe (see “IDW Expands G.I. Joe and Transformers”).
