Marvel Marketing Communications Manager Bill Rosemann responded to a recent comment from a retailer who thought he detected 'political' price increases across some recent Marvel title changes (see 'Brian Hillier of Twilight Comics: Marvel's 'Political' Pricing'). Here's what he said:

If retailers look the last two issues of Diamond's Previews catalog, they will see that AGENT X, X-STATIX and SOLDIER X begin (in July) as extra-sized issues, hence the $2.99 price tag. All three series then (in August) revert to their regular monthly page count and $2.25 price point. Remember, friends, Previews is your main source for Marvel info!
