Rich Biedrzycki of Dreamland in Schaumburg, Illinois saw the news of two new retailer exclusives on collectible card game launches (see 'Score's Epic Battles TCG' and 'Blockbuster Gets Dozens CCG First'), and sent his comments on the strategy:

I would really like to respond to the two stories regarding exclusive releases at Blockbuster of Score's Epic Battles and Topps' Dozens CCG.  First off, I really hope Topps and Score realize what a slap in the face this is to the hundreds of specialty store retailers that helped build their collectible card game business in the first place.  But more importantly, I want Score and Topps to both know these products will never, ever set foot in my store or on my website.  I hope they took this into account and made plans for most of the print run of these games to go to Blockbuster as 100% of the other retailers I spoke to also said they will not carry these games in their stores because of this.  Blockbuster?  This looks like Topps and Score trying to saddle an already dead horse for a long ride.Good luck Topps and Score because I will also take a hard look at all your other products I currently buy.
