Humanoids Publishing has just announced the hiring of Paul Benjamin as the Managing Editor for its U.S. publishing line.  Benjamin, who began his career in comics at Malibu Comics where he served as assistant to president Scott Rosenberg, will also work on developing the Humanoids library for all media.  Since leaving Malibu, Benjamin has worked with Warner Brothers and at Rosenberg's Platinum Studios, where he helped get the European graphic novel series Jeremiah turned into a Showtime TV series that is being written and directed by J. Michael Straczynski (see 'Jeremiah To Be TV Series'). In taking the position as Managing Editor of Humanoids Publishing, Benjamin noted the dual nature of his responsibilities, 'I hope the dual nature of my position will help create a synergy between the publishing side of the company and the film and television side so that the Humanoids properties can be shared with an ever broader audience.'

Humanoids Publishing is a division of the Humanoids Group, one of the leading Franco-Belgian comic publishers.  Humanoids publishes graphic albums by some of Europe (and the world's) top creators including: Jodorosky, Moebius, Yslaire, Schuitten, Bilal, and others (see 'Humanoids Brings European Graphic Novels to the U.S.').  Though many retailers, who are unfamiliar with the material, still don't stock Humanoids books, others have had great success with these reasonably priced (many at $14.95) hardcover and trade paperback graphic novels.
