Dark Horse made several announcements at Comic-Con so far including a stand-alone Hellboy story, a relaunch for Conan and the return of Mister X for his 25th anniversary.  Also on the docket for 2008 is Long Lost, A Zombie Family Christmas, and a new Chickenhare offering.

 

Hellboy: They That Go Down to the Sea in Ships, a stand-alone written by Mike Mignola and Joshua Dysart with art by Jason Shawn Alexander, is a custom comic to go with the Hellboy console game from Konami Digital Entertainment (release date to be announced).  In the story, Hellboy and Abe end up in North Carolina searching for the stolen skull of Blackbeard.

 

Conan the Cimmerian #1 written by Time Truman with art by Tomas Giorello and covers from Cary Nord is slated for release in May.  Richard Corbin is a guest contributor in the first story arc.  In Cimmerian, Conan goes back to his homeland to learn more about his past.

 

Dean Motter is bringing back Mister X, published previously by Vortex in the mid-80s, in Mister X: Condemned, due out in 2008The premise for this 25th anniversary resurrection holds architecture to blame for mass madness, a perfectly logical concept for anyone who has seen the Humanities Building on the University of Wisconsin campus.

 

Chickenhare: Fire in the Hole!, the follow up to The House Of Klaus, takes Chickenhare and his gang into the depths of hell. Fire in the Hole! has a tentative spring 2008 release.  

 

Andy Beckman, writer for USA's Monk and Peter Gross team up for Long Lost, where a teenage boy presents himself as a mother's long-lost kidnapped son.  Long Lost is slated for sometime in 2008.

 

Written by Laura Marsh and illustrated by Bernie Wrightson, A Zombie Family Christmas is a storybook about Christmas with a zombie family (complete with zombie dog).  A Zombie Family Christmas is planned for fall 2008.
