Virgin Comics' one-shot comic Virulents will be made into a movie produced by Virgin and New Regency, distributed by Twentieth Century Fox.  A firm shooting date has not yet been set, but it may be 'as early as 2008.'  John Moore (Flight of the Phoenix, Behind Enemy Lines, The Omen) is attached as director. 

The storyline, a reinvention of the Raktaveej myth, follows a group of American and Indian soldiers searching for a lost platoon and missing WMDs in the Hindu Kush after 9/11.  Instead they find a demon-like menace.

The 56-page one-shot was released to comic stores in March ($4.99) and is still available.
