Fox Home Entertainment is providing three DVD versions of Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, a single-disc edition ($29.98), a double-disk Power Cosmic Edition ($34.98) and a high-definition Blu-Ray edition, all of which will be available on October 2nd.  The stellar performance of the Marvel comics-based Ghost Rider DVD (see 'Ghost Rider DVD is #1'), which opened at number one on the DVD sales charts and remained in the top ten through the following weeks, is no guarantee that the second FF film will do well on disk, but the Rise of the Silver Surfer earned $131 million domestically and more than $278 million worldwide, which is comparable to Ghost Rider's box office, which totaled $228 million globally.

The only extras on the single disc version will be commentaries from director Tim Story, producer Avi Arad, and writer Don Payne.  The two-disc Power Cosmic Edition will contain lots of extras including extended/deleted scenes, a making-of documentary, a feature on the comic book origins of the Silver Surfer, a featurette on the Fantasticar, as well as a Power Cosmic special effects feature.  Additional extras include features on character designs and the film's score along with trailers, still galleries and production sketches.
