In a multi-year deal, Warner Home Video has acquired worldwide home video rights to the TV specials and films created by Lee Mendelson Film Productions based on Charles M. Schulz's classic Peanuts comic strips.  WHV has access to over 50 classic TV specials and plans to release its first DVD, Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown on January 15th.  The DVDs will feature re-mastered deluxe editions of the original TV shows with newly created bonus features.  The second Peanuts DVD release will be It's the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown, which is set to debut on February 26th.

Peanuts remains a potent property as evidenced by the fact that Fantagraphics' Complete Peanuts collections are the bestselling classic comic strip reprints in both the direct and bookstore markets, as determined by ICv2 for its Guide to Graphic Novels.
