Checker Book Publishing of Centerville, Ohio announced the May publication of its second collection of comic stories, Clive Barker's Hellraiser -- Collected Best.  The 232-page, full color trade paperback will retail for $21.95.  All the stories originally appeared in the Epic Comics series, Clive Barker's Hellraiser, between 1990 and 1993.  The collection includes 11 stories, one of which was written by Barker himself, as well as others from Neil Gaiman, Dwayne McDuffie, and Del Stone, Jr.  The list of artists who illustrated the stories includes some top drawer talents: Alex Ross, Colleen Doran, Mike Mignola, Scott Hampton, and Dave McKean.

 

Clive Barker's Hellraiser -- Collected Best is the second volume that Checker Books has collected from the pages of Marvel's creator-owned Epic line.  The first was an Alien Legion collection, Alien Legion: Force Nomad, which was published in November and was quickly made a selection of the Science Fiction Book Club.  Both Clive Barker and Neil Gaiman have strong followings in the comic market as well as New York Times Bestseller List credibility in the general book trade.
