Marvel Entertainment has named SEGAL Licensing its agent for Canadian licensing.  SEGAL will oversee all sales, retail, merchandising and marketing of the Marvel brand in Canada.  According to the announcement hiring SEGAL is part of a strategy to expand Marvel's presence in underserved territories and international markets overall.

Marvel President of Consumer Products for North America, Paul Gitter, said, 'SEGAL...will bring a greater focus for Marvel in Canada, utilizing their tremendous experience creating and managing major licensing and retail initiatives for some of the most successful entertainment properties. We will look to leverage their experience with retailers, manufacturers and other companies in the marketplace to help expand Marvel's presence in Canada in a meaningful way and significantly grow our business there.'

SEGAL will work directly with Canadian retailers and distributors and participate in product development with current and new licensees.
