WizKids has declared February 1-3 as 'Convention Weekend,' an event which will bring 'free-with-purchase' convention giveaways to local brick-and-mortar hobby stores.  During the weekend fans will be able to acquire hard-to-find WizKids giveaways including Mighty Thor, Batman, and Vlad the Impaler for the first time outside of 2007 conventions.  In addition WizKids is producing a special 'purple pants' version of its colossal Fin Fang Foom figure.

Joe Hauck, EVP of Sales, Marketing and Product Development at WizKids, explains Convention Weekend this way: 'For WizKids fans who couldn't make it to one of the conventions we attended in 2007, we wanted to give them a chance to get those convention giveaways they couldn't get anywhere else.'
