An ICv2 Release.  ICv2 has announced the release of the ICv2 Guide #50: Anime/Manga, which is being released to the trade by Alliance Game Distributors, Diamond Comic Distributors, GTS Distribution, Bookazine and others.

 

The new ICv2 Guide discusses the state of the manga and anime markets in North America through October. Manga sales continue to grow, bolstered by Viz's recent  Naruto accelerated publishing schedule, but continued growth into 2008 could be a challenge with more new titles and limited retail space to contend with.  On the anime side, the number of new releases continues to decline year over year--even before Geneon left the scene--and the industry faces ongoing issues with pervasive illegal downloading.  

 

The Guide includes the Top 25 Anime Properties and Top 50 Manga Properties for September and October, and overviews and top release information for March and April manga, anime and Asian live action releases in North America, and reviews of contemporary manga and anime series.
