Kevin Conroy, who has voiced the Caped Crusader in ground-breaking cartoon series ranging from Batman: The Animated Series through Batman Beyond, will lend his considerable vocal talents to Batman: Gotham Knight, the direct-to-DVD Batman anime compilation that hopes to do for The Dark Knight what The Animatrix did for The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions.  Conroy heads an all-star vocal cast that includes Gary Dourdan (CSI), Ana Ortiz (Ugly Betty), Parminder Negra (Bend it Like Beckham, ER), David McCallum (NCIS), George Newbern (Father of the Bride), and Alanna Ubach (Legally Blonde).  Batman: Gotham Knight consists of six interlocking stories written by top comic book scribes including Josh Olson, Brian Azzarello, David Goyer and Greg Rucka, and animated by three top anime studios, Production I.G., Madhouse, and Studio 4C.

The Gotham Knight DVD will be released on July 8th, just ten days prior to the theatrical premiere of The Dark Knight and Warner Bros. has announced that it is cutting the MSRP on the single-disc edition from $24.98 to $19.98.  The 2-disc Special Edition ($29.98) contains over 100 minutes of special features (see "Batman: Gotham Knight DVD"), which will also be available on the Blu-ray version ($34.98).
