Kotobukiya has announced an agreement to produce a series of collectibles based on Christopher Nolan’s second Batman movie, The Dark Knight, which is due in theaters in July.  The first Dark Knight product that will be available will be the Batman Dark Knight Bat-Suit Artfx Statue ($99.99).  Sculpted by BusujimaX, the 14-inch figure of Batman is posed dramatically throwing back his cape and standing on the destroyed Bat Signal.  Like the other Artfx Statues, the Dark Knight figure is a 1/6th scale, pre-painted, snap-together model kit that can be easily assembled in minutes without any glue or model-making skill.

Kotobukiya is creating a second Batman Dark Knight Artfx statue that is connected to this first release by a hidden theme that will quickly be apparent to collectors once they see the film (and the second Dark Knight Artfx Statue).  Kotobukiya’s complete line of collectibles based on the Dark Knight movie will be available outside Japan exclusively through DC Direct.

In addition to The Dark Knight program Kotobukiya is also creating Artfx statues based on the Marvel Studios films (see “Kotobukiya Gets Marvel License” and “First Look at Iron Man Statue”), the Halo video game (see “Kotobukiya Gets Halo License”) and the Indiana Jones movies.

The first two Artfx Indiana Jones statues, the bullwhip-wielding figure of Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones and Sean Connery as his father Henry Jones (from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade) will be available in July for $99.99.  An incredible action scene of Indiana Jones escaping from the Mayan Tomb (and being pursued by the giant Carl Barks stone ball), known as the Raiders of the Lost Ark Artfx Theater, (MSRP $119.99) will be available in August.
