Joe Field, president of comic retailer organization ComicsPro, spoke at a gathering of comic retailers in Philadelphia last week as the first in a planned series of events around the country to give retailers a chance to get more information about the organization.  The event, organized by ComicsPro member George Stasky of Brave new Worlds in Philadelphia and Willow Grove, Pennsylvania added three new members on the spot, with more to come. 

According to Field, “the plan is to do another couple of these events in the spring and summer of ’09,” with local retailers serving as organizers and Field flying in to speak to the attendees. 

ComicsPro will also be hosting a Sunday morning retailer breakfast at Baltimore Comic Con.
