Marvel Entertainment has announced that its next direct-to-DVD release, Hulk Vs., will debut on January 27th in a Regular Edition ($19.98), a Special Edition ($24.98) and a Blu-ray Version ($29.98). The DVD will contain two separate and smashing Hulk sagas, “Hulk Vs. Wolverine” and “Hulk Vs. Thor.” Bruce Banner’ alter ego takes on these popular denizens of the Marvel Universe (each of whom is getting his own live action feature film treatment in the near future) in comic book-inspired epic combats, which, in the spirit of Marvel’s direct-to-DVD releases that are aimed directly at comic book fans and demonstrate the proper reverence for all three characters’ comic book roots.
The Hulk Vs. DVDs, which like Marvel’s previous direct-to-DVD efforts was produced by Lionsgate, will contain a number of special features including commentaries from Supervising Producer Craig Kyle and writer Chris Yost, plus “first look” featurettes for the upcoming animated series, “Wolverine and the X-Men,” and “Thor: Tales of Asgard.”
The Special Edition and Blu-ray DVDs will include those features plus extras devoted to the making of “Hulk Vs. Wolverine,” and “Hulk Vs. Thor,” a look at the reaction of fans at the SDCC to “Hulk Vs. Wolverine” footage, a not-to-be-missed documentary about Jack Kirby and the creation of Thor, and more.
