Hermes Press has announced that Star Trek: A Comics History ($39.99), the complete saga of the Star Trek universe in comic books and comic strips, will be released in March of 2009.  Written by Alan J. Porter, the 208-page, all color, large format (8.5” x 11”) deluxe trade paperback chronicles the four-color history of Star Trek from the first Gold Key comics to the English newspaper strip, to Marvel and DC’s Star Trek titles and the present-day comic and manga iterations of the popular science fiction property.

Star Trek: A Comics History includes creator interviews, unpublished art work, and a detailed checklist of Star Trek comic publications.  The early spring release means that retailers will have this volume on their shelves well before the release of J.J. Abrams’ new Star Trek film, which is set to premiere on May 8th (see “Trek Transported to Spring”).
