Viz Pictures, an affiliate of Viz Media, is releasing Death Note II: The Last Name, the second live action film based on the popular Death Note manga series, on DVD on February 10th.  Like the first Death Note film, Death Note II: The Last Name, which was released in Japan in 2006 where it was one of the year’s biggest box office hits, was directed by Shusuke Kaneko and features a stellar cast of talented young actors.  Last October Viz Pictures released a dubbed version of Death Note II to some 400 theaters across the U.S. (see “Death Note II on 400 Screens”).

The Death Note II: The Last Name DVD (MSRP $24.92) will contain both a Japanese soundtrack with English subtitles and an English dubbed soundtrack.  Death Note remains one of the most popular manga properties in U.S., and the 37-episode Death Note anime still gets plenty of Cartoon Network exposure.
