Variety is reporting that sexy starlet Megan Fox (Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen) will star in a big screen adaptation of the late Michael Turner’s Fathom comic book series. Jordan Mechner, who is best known for creating the Prince of Persia video game and who provided the story for First Second’s Prince of Persia graphic novel (see “Interview With Mark Siegel, Pt. 2”), is writing the screenplay for Fathom.
According to Variety Fox is also producing Fathom in conjunction with Safran Productions. Fox Atomic is now behind the long-gestating Fathom project, which was originally optioned as an animation project by Fox in 2000 and then taken over by James Cameron’s Lightstorm Productions in 2002 (see “Scribe Set for Live Action Fathom”).
According to The Hollywood Reporter Ms. Fox is also in final negotiations to play Leila, the sexy, gun-toting girlfriend of Jonah Hex in the film adaptation of the DC Comics western saga, which will star Josh Brolin as the scarfaced gunfighter.
