Marth Cornog, a graphic novel columnist for the Library Journal, would like to see President Obama and the First Lady actually write some graphic stories themselves:
With Obama comics jumping off the shelves, it would be just wonderful if Mr. and Mrs. President would actually write some graphic stories themselves, especially targeted to kids and tweens. Former First Lady Laura Bush together with her daughter Jenna wrote a children's book last year. The Obamas can run way ahead of that with the comics connection.
Obama-authored comics (Dreams for Our Children?) would be a huge benefit for youth literacy, and the author profits could be used for good causes that have been languishing in the recession.
