We’ve seen the past, and it looks great. Comic-Con: 40 Years of Artists, Writers, Fans & Friends is a hardcover history of the San Diego Comic-Con International, which will celebrate its 40th anniversary this July. The 200-page coffee table book, with a wraparound cover by Sergio Aragones and an introduction by longtime convention attendee Ray Bradbury, covers the convention’s guests, events, and growth on a year-by-year basis.
Full of photos, Souvenir Book reproductions, and even the badge designs from each year of the show, the book is not only a great walk through the history of the show, but a fascinating journey through the history of pop culture in America.
The book will street September 1st from Chronicle at a $40 MSRP.
