A deal for distribution of the independently produced Kick-Ass film, based on the Mark Millar and John Romita, Jr. comic, is close, according to the Risky Business blog on Hollywood Reporter.  Lionsgate, Paramount, and Universal are all in contention, according to the report.

The film was helped by the great reaction of fans at Comic-Con (see “Comic-Con Helps Kick-Ass”).
