In a change to the more restrictive policies it announced early last year (see “Top 10 Comics Business Events of 2009”), Diamond will distribute all products for which it solicits orders in Previews, its monthly catalog. In conjunction with raising the minimum order volume for products it carries, Diamond had also begun the practice of cancelling orders from its customers for products that didn’t meet those thresholds, rather than bringing in the quantities needed to fill orders from retailers. That policy has now been changed, according to the company.
Fewer products are missing the product thresholds after a year of choosing products to carry based on the new minimums, according to Diamond. So orders will be placed with suppliers even for products that underperform, and any changes to the products being carried will be made to future issues or like products, rather than after soliciting for orders in Previews.
