Ron Catapano of Ron's Comic World in Mount Holly, New Jersey wasn't able to supply his customers with this week's highly anticipated White Lantern Ring promotion and writes in to share his frustration over the matter.

Where the "7734" are the White Lantern Rings?  Almost everyone through the door on Wednesday wanted to know why they were not getting the white lantern ring they had been waiting for.  They had bought all of the associated Blackest Night tie-in books to get all of the other rings and had only one more ring to complete their set and were now being told they were S.O.L. because of some sort of screw up.

This has been (surprisingly) one of the most successful promotions run by DC in a long time and has sold a lot of books that were purchased for the sole purpose of getting the associated ring.  Now, the final ring in the set is released and I can't get it for my customers.  Why?

The explanation that the rings were sent to the wrong warehouse doesn't make sense unless the other warehouse decided to just throw them all away.  I don't buy it.  While they may occasionally ship a wrong item, the people at Diamond are not in the habit of adding items to someone's shipment that isn't listed on an inventory list or invoice which means that they would only be shipped out to fill an order.  This brings me back to where are the rings "I" ordered?

If they were just shipped to the wrong distribution center, the worst I would expect is a message telling me that the rings would be received a week or so later than expected.  Instead I'm being told that there are NO white rings available but that they'll send me some more green & black rings instead.

Imagine that you wanted to buy the 8 issue set of Blackest Night comics and you received issues #1-7 along with a note telling you that issue #8 was no longer available but they would give you another copy of issue #1 to make up for it.  How happy would you be?

Regardless of how it happened, if there are no white rings available to fill orders, DC needs to make more.  They also need to announce this before all of the good PR work they've done gets ruined by this mistake.
