The movie rights to the Electronic Arts videogame Mass Effect have been acquired by Legendary Pictures (Dark Knight); Avi and Ari Arad will also produce. 

Mark Protosevich (I Am Legend, Thor, Old Boy, see “I Am Legend Scribe on Old Boy”) is writing a script.

Dark Horse produced a comic miniseries based on the game (see “EA, Dark Horse Team Up for Mass Effect”).
