At the San Diego Comic-Con Kotobukiya unveiled three smoking hot figures based on DC & Marvel characters—Batgirl (MSRP $59.99), Emma Frost (MSRP $59.99), and Psylocke (MSRP $169.99). The Batgirl and Emma Frost statues are part of part of Kotobukiya's DC & Marvel Bishojo ("beautiful girl") Collections, while the equally sexy Psylocke sculpture is part of the Marvel Fine Art Danger Room Collection.

The first of these figures to ship is the DC Bishojo Collection Batgirl, an anime-influenced 9-inch (1/7 scale) statue of the Barbara Gordon iteration of Batgirl.  The sexy figure is based on an illustration by Shunya Yamashita and should be available in the U.S. in December.  The first figure in Kotobukiya’s DC Bishojo Collection, the PVC Batgirl statue stands on gargoyle base and comes packaged in a deluxe window box.

The latest addition to Kotobukiya’s Marvel Bishojo Collection is an 8-inch (1/8 scale) Emma Frost sculpted by Takashi Tsukada and based on an illustration by Shunya Yamasita.  Frost, who was created by Chris Claremont and John Byrne, first appeared in Uncanny X-Men #129 in January of 1980.  This PVC statue, which is notable for its sexy costume, wind-blown cape, and flowing hair, should also ship to retailers in December.

The cold cast Psylocke Fine Art Statue is not part of the Marvel Bishojo Collection, but this powerful example of Kotobukiya’s Danger Room Collection is equally sexy in its own way.  Fashioned from more expensive cold cast materials, this larger (12-inch, 1/6th scale) figure is due for distribution in the U.S. in February of 2011.  Sculpted by Eric Sosa this figure of Psylocke is based not on an anime-like character sketch, but on Jim Lee’s groundbreaking 1990s design of the character as seen in X-Men #1.  Psylocke is presented perched atop a fallen Sentinel with her own katana and psyblade.  The prone Sentinel makes this a real two-for-one action-packed scene that is further enhanced by LED lights in the hologram base and the repulsor on the Sentinel’s hand.
