Dynamite Entertainment has announced that Eric Trautmann, who has written for DC, Vertigo and DC Comics, will be writing its Vampirella series.  In the new series Vampirella once again is pitted against Dracula but both soon discover that there is something far worse than vampires in today’s world and the only thing that can stop it is Vampirella.

“It’s a genuine pleasure to be adding to the ‘legend’ of Vampirella,” says writer Eric Trautmann.  “There’s a long roster of talented creators - Forest Ackerman, Archie Goodwin, Kurt Busiek, Warren Ellis, James Robinson, Grant Morrison to name just a few - have cast a long shadow over Vampirella.  It’s an honor to be able to add to that long history and add some of my peculiar brand of weirdness to it all.”

Earlier this year, Dynamite Entertainment acquired the Vampirella property from Harris Publications (see “Dynamite Gets Vampirella”) and previously announced it would release two Vampirella collections this fall, Vampirella Archive Vol. 1 and Vampirella Master Series Vol. 1: Grant Morrison and Mark Millar (see “Vampirella Collections”).  Vampirella #1, written by Trautmann and drawn by Wagner Reis, will be released in November.
