Hermes Press has announced that it will begin publishing Mike Bullock’s Lions, Tigers, and Bears beginning with Volume Three.  The title was formerly published by Image.  The first Hermes release, Lions, Tigers and Bears Volume 3, with story by Bullock and art by Michael Metcalf, will be released in March 2011. 

Hermes is known for publishing reprint collections of comic books and comic strips (Dark Shadows, Buck Rogers, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, The Phantom, etc.); this is its first publication of original material.

“Michael Metcalf and I felt honored to have Lions, Tigers and Bears leading the charge for the new Hermes Press line of original all-ages graphic novels,” remarked Mike Bullock, “I’m very happy that all the fans, young and old, get to enjoy the new book in an exciting new format, allowing them to get on the ground floor of a wondrous new era for the title.”

On Friday, October 8th during the New York Comics Con there will be a Lions, Tigers and Bears panel where Bullock and Hermes Press Publisher Dan Herman will discuss plans for the title, including the Paramount Pictures movie now in development (see “’Lions, Tigers, and Bears’ Movie”).
