Diamond Comic Distributors has announced the results of its retailer poll on the preferred weekend for Free Comic Book Day in 2003 (for info on the poll, see 'FCBD Gears Up for 2003'). Over 63% of retailers responding prefer the release of X-Men 2 the first weekend in May as the anchor event over the release of Hulk later in the summer. The committee that runs FCBD is abiding by that preference, and the scheduled date for Free Comic Book Day 2003 is now officially Saturday, May 3, 2003. That choice will keep the event the same time of year at the kickoff of the summer movie (and pop culture product) season.
