Colin McMahon of Pittsburgh Comics in McMurray, Pennsylvania comments on the upcoming Marvel crossover event Fear Itself (see "Marvel Announces Summer Crossover").
While I am all for a big event to catch readers interest, we don't need a Fear Itself: Mr. Fear 3-issue miniseries, a Fear Itself: Fear on the Streets 4-issue miniseries with a bunch of C-list characters, a Fear Itself: Spider-Man one-shot that has nothing to do with the story as a whole and a Fear Itself: Ghost Rider one-shot that could have been told in 2 pages of the main story. I also don't want to see six Fear Itself one-shots without final titles, creators and "Classified" solicits (ala Siege).
That is my "Fear" when I hear about a new Marvel "Event" now. Give us, and the fans, a solid miniseries (that has a planned ending that doesn't fell like something thrown together to wrap it up) and tie it into the regular series. That's what Civil War did and it worked.
