Underground Toys and BBC Worldwide have announced a worldwide licensing deal for the manufacture of Doctor Who plush toys. The deal includes figures from the current Doctor Who series (2005 to the present) as well as a separate program featuring characters from the classic Doctor Who series, which aired from 1963-1989.
The plush figures will be produced in several different sizes and will be able to produce “unique noises” tailored to each character. Starting in June of 2011, Underground Toys plans to begin shipping the new Doctor Who plush toys worldwide. The new Doctor Who series airs in the U.S. on the Syfy cable network.
