Mark Farace of All American Collecitlbes in St. Louis, Missouri sent us this example of a shortage on a book from Marvel, which does not overprint.
What would have happened had Fat Moose missed a Marvel title instead of DC title though? I'll tell you! Daredevil #37 missed the rounds at our shop and Diamond was unable to fill. So I drove to other shops to buy copies of it for about 75% of our pull customers before I was shut down (and stopped driving further away from our store). So we lost 25% of our pull sales and all of our rack sales. On the flip side, anyone ever get shorted all their shelf copies only to see them show up a week late and not sell because they were bought elsewhere? Been there done that too!!
